Breastfeeding: Toolkit for Monitoring and Evaluating Breastfeeding Practices & Programs
Author: Wellstart International
Year: 1996
Resource type: Field tool
Part of Wellstart International Expanded Promotion of Breastfeeding Program (EPB)
The purpose of this Tool Kit is to provide program managers with practical methods to facilitate the monitoring and evaluation of breastfeeding practices and to help them assess breastfeeding programs and practices. Sample questionnaires are provided and illustrations given of the minimal questions required for various program purposes.
This document was taken and adapted to make the 'Infant and Child Feeding Indicators Measurement Guide' 1999, which is available in this resource library under Assessments, Surveys and Indicators section, however many people prefer this toolkit as it is more comprehensive than the Guide.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The IYCF indicators are in the process of being updated - see: Indicators for Assessing IYCF Practices. Conclusions of a Concensus meeting 6-8 November, 2007, Washington, DC. (Available in this resource library under Assessments, Surveys and Indicators section)
