The earthquake of 1988, the conflict between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Kharabagh, which resulted in the economic blockade against Armenia and the influx of refugees, together with an economic collapse in the 1990s left Armenia in a vulnerable state. This paper looks that the effect on breastfeeding rates of these events, including the distribution of donated infant formula.
