WFP-Oxfam GB Brief: Engaging with Markets in Humanitarian responses

Author: Emily Henderson & Carol Brady (Oxfam GB) and Issa Sanogo (WFP)
Year: 2013
Resource type: Report

 Dear colleagues,

We wanted to share a recent piece of work on engaging with markets in humanitarian responses.
In late 2012-early 2013, WFP and Oxfam collaborated on a piece of research that aimed to understand how humanitarian agencies are currently engaging with markets and how this work might evolve. The research culminated in the writing of a brief, which is attached here. The brief looks at the spectrum of how organisations engage with markets and identifies key areas of work for the future.

Many organisations are now looking at how far their organisations can and will go in supporting market functions. We would be very interested in your comments.

Please feel free to contact us at any time. Many thanks, Emily Henderson (Oxfam GB), Carol Brady (Oxfam GB), and Issa Sanogo (WFP)
