Leadership
ENN actively engages in global fora to influence and provide leadership within the nutrition sector on technical developments, governance and strategy and to inform donor thinking and behaviours. Senior technical staff attend strategic meetings on nutrition, and engage with academic and research groups and global nutrition entities.
Currently ENN participates in the following groups:
- Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC) (core member) and the GNC Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) (member)
- Council for Research and Technical Advice on Acute Malnutrition (CORTASAM)/No Wasted Lives
- Cash Learning Partnership (CALP)
ENN currently provides leadership through the following projects:
- Infant Feeding in Emergencies Core Group (IFE-Core Group)
- ‘Reset’ of wasting prevention and treatment to catalyse action and accountability
- Humanitarian and Development Nexus (HDN)
ENN is often invited to participate in policy or guidance development at global level. These currently include:
- Evidence Aid led collection of evidence on prevent and treatment of acute malnutrition
- WHO guideline development on breastfeeding counselling
ENN conducts reviews and facilitates meetings to provide leadership and direction in the nutrition sector. In the past these have included:
- The management of acute malnutrition at scale: A review of donor and government financing arrangements (2013)
- Nutrition and resilience review and scoping study (2016)
- Consultation on use of MUAC and WHZ scores as indicators of SAM (2012)
- ENN technical meeting on nutrition, Oxford (2014)
- Conference on goverment experiences of scaling up Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) and lessons for the Scaling-up Movement (SUN) (2011)
