As part of the SUN Movement, there has been substantial progress in advocating for, and building political commitment within these countries, to the scaling up of multi-sectoral nutrition specific and sensitive programming through the establishment of coordination mechanisms embedded in government. However, there has to date, been less examination of the types of multisectoral programmes being implemented at a sub-national level. Given the recognition of this need, in 2017, ENN embarked on a process of documenting such programming examples. We developed 8 country case studies from Kenya, Senegal, Nepal, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Niger, The Philippines and Zimbabwe. Two interim synthesis papers were developed for the first and second synthesis respectively and a final synthesis was developed exploring key findings across the 8 case studies. In order to situate our findings within the broader evidence base, a literature review was also produced. These case studies are accompanied by a webinar: Multi-Sector Nutrition Programming at the sub national level.
