Upcoming online tutored course in Food Security
A new online university specialisation course in Food Security will jointly be delivered by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Open University of Catalonia (OUC). This online tutored course will be based on the 12 Food Security e-learning courses developed under the EC/FAO Food Security Information for Action Programme.
This online tutored course will be delivered through the UOC's Virtual Campus Platform, and is due for launch in March 2010. The language of instruction will be English for the first year and Spanish for the second year (March 2011).
Students who successfully complete the course will receive 15 ECTS* credits and a joint FAO/UOC certificate (specialisation) in Food Security. This certificate will be offered independently (as a stand-alone certificate) and also be recognized as a component of the Master's in Food, Society and International Food Governance.
